Visitors would be able to enjoy free access between November 19 and November 25. It is for the first time that the authorities have planned the World Heritage week starting at Sitaram Temple located in Soronji, at which the temple has been chosen as the opening venue for the first time.
People know Agra only for its famous landmarks, but this initiative seeks to reveal other heritage sites to the public. Dr. Rajkumar Patel, a well-known archaeologist, has elaborated on the activities slated for the week, which will include a photo display depicting the Ramayana across ages starting from the Gupta period, right to the current day. The exhibition will take place in many venues to feature the cultural richness of India. Besides, a new facility called the Jan Suvidha Kendra will be unveiled in the Sitaram Temple so that visitors can have an extra pleasure while touring the temple.
An exhibition on the photography of the proceeds of the Ramayana will all be in place within the monuments and buildings of the surrounding archaeological sites across the country, the archaeologist Dr. Rajkumar Patel declared on the projected activities. Exhibits chronologically will include more than just Gupta period art. Further, additional public facility will be kicked off at the Sitaram Temple in a bid to promote the ease of access to the tourists.
In Atranjikhera, similar events will be hosted, among which exhibitions based on the Ramayana will take the center stage. It is worth mentioning that this year, the World Heritage Week is being launched for the first time ever from inside a protected monument for better comprehension of the need to observe and appreciate these places and their historical importance to the public.
