Carried out from the LGBI Airport and completed at Pandu ghat, this small yet, historic journey suggests about the vast prospects of seaplanes in improving tourism in Assam, he stated.

"It is the first time that a seaplane has landed in our state," he said
Later on, while speaking to the press at Pandu Ghat, Baruah stated, therefore, this particular date is of significance to the people of Assam.
Nearly every tourist attraction in the state is positioned somewhere close to any water body as in the examples of Kaziranga, Umrangso and Majuli. He further quoted that these can be connected through seaplanes.
The minister added that it will take about six to 12 months before the seaplanes are put into operation.
