This open-top double-decker bus is to become a brand new tourist kaboodle in Kochi, bringing a fresh avenue--in fact, a free avenue for the tourist and the resident--for discovering the delightful beauty and other scenic splendors that the city offers. KSRTC has initiated route trials to determine the best paths for the service; one of these proposed hails from Madhava Pharmacy and goes to Fort Kochi, taking MG Road. But there are a few impediments, narrow roads, the height of trees and structures nearby that will affect smooth operation of bus.

The bus has a seating capacity of 70 passengers and had been refurbished for a better touring experience. The seats are designed for unobstructed views of the city, especially well suited for evening and night excursions. An excellent quality audio system would also accompany the tour.

The bus has been retrofitted with double clutch in keeping with the bygone past and serviced properly in Ernakulam main depot to make a smooth and sound travel experience for the passengers. This service called "City Tour" shall commence operations after 6 pm in the evening, so that the visitors can enjoy the Kerala capital's evening spells while taking advantage of the little volume of traffic.

As for the fare, the upper deck is likely to be at ₹200 per seat, while the lower deck is expected to cost ₹100. KSRTC hopes to have passengers throng in numbers for this service, especially, during the coming festival season which hits its peak during Christmas and New Year. If the service proved to be popular, KSRTC will think of putting one more bus in service, as demand increases.

This open top double-decker bus is destined to be one more major tourist attraction in Kochi. It opens up to be a pleasure and an unforgettable experience of exploring the city while highlighting KSRTC's mission to make travel so much more than life.
