New lines for the Jalgaon-Manmad section fourth line (160 km), Bhusaval-Khandwa third and fourth lines (131 km), and Prayagraj-Manikpur third line (84 km) form part of a total 375 km stretch.
Going by reports, these developments would drastically change travel and logistics in seven districts across the above Indian states, benefitting around 1,300 villages and a population of 38 lakh.
For people planning spiritual trips and pilgrimages, the new railway routes lead to effortless access to pilgrimage destinations and better connectivity with other popular religious sites like Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Gaya, and Shirdi. That aside, these developments will increase the number of trains operating between Mumbai-Prayagraj-Varanasi. All of this will reduce overall travel time while easing congestion on one of India's busiest corridors.
Looking ahead, apart from pilgrimage tourism, these new rail projects will also facilitate travelers' access to important tourist sites such as UNESCO World Heritage Sites Khajuraho and the Ajanta and Ellora Caves. They will be able to travel easily to see historic sites like Devagiri Fort, Asirgarh Fort, and Rewa Fort; or natural wonders such as Yawal Wildlife Sanctuary and splendid Keoti and Purwa Waterfalls.
The new rail lines will be very important to the economy of the country by its contribution to boosting goods transport, particularly the movement of agricultural products, fertilizers, coal, steel, cement, and containers.
Well, now travelers will be able to reach some of the holiest and most culturally favorite sites in India much more conveniently and quickly than before. It is one among the various initiatives that the Indian Railways is extending to travelers-not only from India but also from across the globe.
