Diwali (or Deepavali) is an Indian celebration that reinforces the belief good triumphs over evil; light defeats darkness and ignorance gives way to knowledge. The festival is celebrated over a period of five to six days during which people light up their houses as well as temples and places of work with oil lamps, candles and lanterns.
The festival has been endowed with great religious meaning as it represents one of mankind’s largest archetypes – “spiritual over darkness, good over evil, and dons overcoming ignorant.”
