The fire reportedly started in the food court on the fourth floor of the mall. To put out the fire and possibly rescue people who were stuck inside,  the firefighters came very fast breaking through the big glass panels of the mall’s outer wall. There might be a rescue operation happening right now to help people in danger.

Several fire engines rushed to the spot to douse the blaze,  with ten fire trucks arriving quickly after the alarm was raised. The brave firefighters,  all suited up with their protective gear and breathing masks,  headed into the building to tackle the flames. Fortunately,  no one got hurt during the incident.

"As of now, there is no report of any injury. Firefighting operations are underway. Some firefighters have entered the building wearing oxygen masks," an official told PTI.

DCP Jadavpur Division Bidisha Kalita,  in an interaction with the press,  stated,  "The fire has been brought under control,  but nothing can be said right now,"  as reported by ANI.

The air was thick with the pungent scent of burning materials,  making everyone around feel a growing sense of urgency. Concern for the safety of those inside quickly led to a speedy evacuation to keep everyone safe. The entire area was engulfed in smoke,  and traffic movement in front of the mall was regulated by the Kolkata Traffic Police.

The root cause of the fire remains unknown with reports suggesting that it could have begun at the mall’s food court. To figure out what caused the fire,  experts will investigate forensically. Efforts are being made by the authorities to put off the fire to confine it within the current area and minimize destruction possibilities.

Not so long ago before this event there was another fire outbreak that startled everyone in Kolkata,  it took place at Park Street restaurant.
