Here's a breakdown of the donations

1) Rs 8 crore: Deposited in donation boxes placed within the temple premises. This shows the constant flow of people visiting the shrine and showing their devotion with offerings.

2) Rs 3.50 crore: Received through cheques and online transactions. This suggests wider participation from individuals who may not have physically visited the temple but still wished to contribute.

Prakash Gupta,  who manages the temple office,  says a huge crowd of over 2 lakh devotees visit the Ram temple daily to seek blessings from Ram Lalla.

Inside the main shrine,  where the idol sits, there are four large donation boxes placed near the walkway. Devotees can offer their contributions there.

A team of 14 people,  including 11 bank employees and 3 temple staff,  carefully count the offerings from these boxes. Gupta assures everyone that the entire process, from collecting donations to counting them, is monitored by CCTV cameras for transparency.

Key points to note

1) Significance of the number 11: The total amount,  Rs 11 crore,  coincides with the 11 days that have passed since the opening ceremony. This has resonated with some devotees,  adding an element of spiritual symbolism to the contributions.

2) Large number of visitors: Around 25 lakh devotees have visited the temple in these 11 days,  underlining the immense popularity and religious importance of the site.

3) Transparency in donations: The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra,  the trust managing the temple,  assures transparency in handling donations. They regularly update information on their website and through press releases.
