About Rose Garden Chandigarh 

Zakir Hussain Rose Garden situated in Chandigarh, India, is a botanical garden that occupies an area of around 30 acres or 120,000 m2 and consists of an impressive collection of 50,000 rose bushes belonging to about 1600 different species. The garden was established in 1967 under the guidance of Mohinder Singh Randhawa, the first chief commissioner of Chandigarh, and it is named after the former president of India, Zakir Hussain. It is the largest garden of its kind in Asia.

The garden has trees that give freshness to air and are also medicinal by nature, apart from the now famous roses. The medicinal plants found here are the bel, bahera, harar, camphor, yellow gulmohar. All these rose bushes are very well-designed and planted in very carefully planned lawns and flower beds that are overall beautifying the entire Zakir Hussain Rose Garden.
