To make things simpler, the Goa government has now proposed a “visa on arrival” scheme. This move is expected to attract more international tourists and make travel hassle-free. The state is also working on improving air connectivity, ensuring better flight options for visitors.
More Flights, More Visitors!
The tourism department understands the importance of direct flights. That’s why they are focusing on charter flights from major international cities like Moscow, London, Ekaterinburg, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. Excitingly, Goa will also welcome a Polish charter flight on November 8.
But tourists don’t just come for the beaches! Places like Dudhsagar Falls and Goa’s scenic hinterlands are also gaining popularity. To make these attractions more accessible, the government is teaming up with airlines to introduce more flight routes. However, for this plan to work smoothly, they need extra support from the central government.
Goa’s Tourism Is Bouncing Back
After the pandemic slowed things down, Goa’s tourism is making a strong comeback. In 2023 alone, over 4.5 lakh foreign tourists visited Goa. On top of that, more than 8 million Indian travelers explored the state’s beauty.
Challenges & The Road Ahead
Despite the growth, Goa still faces challenges. Limited direct international flights remain a major hurdle. To fix this, the state government is working with the central government to increase direct flight routes and secure more seat entitlements for international visitors.
Goa’s stunning beaches and breathtaking landscapes continue to charm travelers from all corners of the world. Now, with these efforts, the state is gearing up to become an even more globally connected and tourist-friendly destination!
