Hey there, friend! I’ve got some exciting news to share. The Michelin Guide Ceremony 2025 for Great Britain and Ireland took place on February 10 in Glasgow. This year, the guide featured 1,147 restaurants, and 220 of them proudly carry Michelin stars. One restaurant even earned a coveted third star, while three others were awarded two Michelin stars for the first time. In addition, 22 restaurants joined the ever-growing list of One-Star establishments.

Even more interesting, eight fantastic Indian restaurants have kept their Michelin stars in 2025. Seven of these gems are in London, and one is in Birmingham. Although they are not new entries, each restaurant has worked hard to keep its prestigious star. Let’s take a closer look at these wonderful places:

Gymkhana, London
Located in Mayfair, Gymkhana earned its second Michelin star last year. This famous restaurant draws inspiration from the old Gymkhana clubs of colonial India. It mainly serves North Indian dishes. The Michelin Guide applauds the “balance, sophistication, and depth” of its cooking. -
Opheem, Birmingham
Opheem is run by Chef Aktar Islam, who grew up in Birmingham. The restaurant won its first Michelin star in 2019 and its second in 2024. It uses British ingredients with a special Indian twist. Led by Chef Sriram Aylur, Quilon proudly carries one Michelin star. The restaurant’s menu highlights the rich flavors of southwest India and the Malabar Coast. The Michelin Guide praises Quilon for its consistency and reliability. It first earned its star in 2008 and has maintained it ever since. -
Trishna, London
Trishna has held its Michelin star for many years since it was first awarded in 2012. This restaurant specializes in coastal dishes, especially from southwestern India. The Michelin Guide compliments its menu for being fresh, beautifully spiced, and wonderfully colorful. -
Amaya, London
Located in Belgravia, Amaya opened in 2004 and received its Michelin star in 2006. This modern Indian restaurant combines the best of tapas-style dining with fine dining. It serves different-sized dishes designed for sharing, cooked on traditional tawa, tandoor, and sigri grills, as highlighted by the Michelin Guide.
