Tourism is Growing Fast!

The minister revealed that India’s domestic tourism is growing like never before. In fact, in the next five years, it’s expected to grow faster than the country’s economy—by a whopping 15%! Isn’t that incredible?

Big Achievements in Tourism

During his speech, Mr. Shekhawat highlighted India’s achievements in tourism. For starters, there’s been a massive 95.64% rise in domestic tourists. Plus, India’s global ranking on the Travel and Tourism Development Index has jumped from 65 to 39. This shows how India is becoming a favorite destination for travelers worldwide!

And here’s another fun fact: over INR 6,800 crore has already been invested in developing destinations. On top of that, INR 3,295.76 crore has been approved to improve lesser-known tourism spots across states. This means more places to explore for everyone!

Making Travel Easier

India is pulling out all the stops to make travel smoother and more enjoyable. Initiatives like the e-tourist visa are making it easier for international visitors to explore India. Whether you’re a globetrotter or a local adventurer, you’ll love the hassle-free experience.

The Shift to Experiential Tourism

Travel is no longer just about seeing places; it’s about feeling them too! Mr. Shekhawat mentioned the rise of experiential tourism. This trend focuses on creating personalized, immersive experiences for travelers. Whether it’s trying local cuisines, attending cultural festivals, or exploring hidden gems, there’s something magical for everyone.

Emerging Trends in Tourism

The minister also talked about emerging trends like MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) and medical tourism. These segments are attracting visitors from all over the globe and boosting India’s reputation as a top-notch travel destination.

Building World-Class Infrastructure

To stay competitive on the global tourism map, India is heavily investing in infrastructure. From better roads to modern airports, these developments are setting the stage for a world-class travel experience.

The Role of PM Modi’s Vision

Mr. Shekhawat credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s "Whole of Government" approach for this tourism boom. This strategy focuses on blending development with heritage preservation, creating a more inclusive and sustainable travel ecosystem. “Tourism connects cultures and bridges nations,” he said. And isn’t that so true?

Maha Kumbh 2025 – A Grand Event Awaits!

The conclave wrapped up with a big announcement: India is gearing up to welcome 45 crore visitors for the Maha Kumbh in 2025. It’s going to be a grand celebration of culture, spirituality, and togetherness.
