Dhadi Darshan System To Transform Puri’s Jagannath Temple Visit Starting January 1

Exciting news for all devotees of Lord Jagannath! The Odisha government is all set to launch a new system at the famous Jagannath Temple in Puri to make your visit more peaceful and organized. This new system, called the Dhadi Darshan system, will begin on January 1, 2025, after a couple of trial runs at the end of December 2024.

So, what’s this new system all about? The Dhadi Darshan system is designed to manage the massive crowds that visit the temple every day. It will make your darshan (viewing) of the Lord more serene and smooth. With dedicated entry and exit points, there will be less congestion and a more pleasant experience for everyone.  

Here’s how it will work: 

 

- Entry: Devotees will enter the temple through the Satapahacha Gate.  

- Exit: There will be two separate gates for exiting – the Ghanti Gate and the Garada Gate.  

This smart layout will ease crowding and ensure everyone moves comfortably. Special care has been taken to make the temple more accessible for women, children, senior citizens, and differently-abled individuals.  

What the Government Says  

Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan shared more details during a media briefing. He assured everyone that the preparations are on track and will be completed by December 27 or 28, 2024. To ensure everything runs smoothly, trial runs of the system will happen on December 30 and 31.  

This new system is not just about modernizing the temple – it’s about making the experience more spiritual and enjoyable for every devotee. Along with Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Chief Administrator Arabinda Padhee, the minister recently visited the temple to monitor the progress.
