This effort will focus on all those target areas that development has affected in some crucial sectors such as nursing, information hence technology, and caregiving. The new developments are reportedly intended to ease the transition of Indian specialists into the economy of the country.

On this note, Philipp Ackermann, the German Ambassador to India stated that the number of visas meant for skilled migrants coming to India would change for the better. At present, the visa cap imposed per year is 20,000 but the country’s administration is about to increase it to 90,000 every year. Typically such visas will also be directed to industries that have a severe shortage of labor, especially in the case of Indian professionals whose services are in high demand.

In light of the labour needs, the German Government has initiated a series of actions directed at Indian workers. One of the important modifications that it has made is minimizing the waiting time for Indian applicants to receive a visa, which under the current regulation is reduced to two weeks from nine months in the previous practice.

The focus on attracting Indian talent is not only to cope with the present demand for labour. The goal is the establishment of lasting economic and technology ties between Germany and India. Given the already strong relations between the two states, it is expected that the increase in skilled labour visas will facilitate even greater strategic rapprochement.

In addition to this, Germany is aiding the aspiring Indian workforce in applying for the Blue Card which is a non-EU work visa permit. The wage ceiling for the foreign workers has been lowered and the requirement of producing adequate proficiency in German Language has been scrapped. It is also worth noting that applying for a Blue Card, it is no longer necessary to possess any such qualifications as a diploma from an institution of higher education.

Germany has 570000 job vacancies even without trained work forces which depicts the enormity of labor shortages in the country. Citing the studies conducted by the German Economic Institute, there exist a deficit of workers in more than 70 occupations in the country, with manufacturing, transport, engineering, and health services bearing the biggest brunt. There is believed to be a high level of demand for Indian professionals in the supply of these important services within Germany as this shortage continues.
