PM Modi Kicks Off Two-Day Visit to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, Unveiling Development Projects Worth Rs 60,000 Crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off a two-day visit to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh today,  marking the inauguration and foundation stone laying of various development projects worth a staggering Rs 60,000 crore across both states. The Prime Minister's visit comes at a perfect time,  right when they're celebrating 50 years of the famous Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF). This could promote Gujarat  to better infrastructure and a stronger economy.

The prime minister posted on his official X account,  "I will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh starting tomorrow,  22nd February. Tomorrow's programmes will be in different parts of Gujarat. In Ahmedabad,  I will take part in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation in the presence of several farmers from different parts of the state."

“Later,  I will be attending programmes in Mehsana and Navsari where key projects will be inaugurated pertaining to connectivity,  infrastructure,  urban development,  textiles and more,”  PM Modi further said.

Gujarat: Focus on Connectivity and Tribal Welfare



The Prime Minister's visit to Gujarat began with his participation in the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF),  popularly known as Amul,  at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Golden Jubilee celebration  has been attended by over 1.25 lakh farmers which highlights the success story of the dairy cooperative and its contribution to Gujarat's economy. At the event,  the Prime Minister will unveil five projects valued at Rs 1,200 crore.


Later in the day,  PM Modi travelled to Mahesana district,  where he visited the Valinath Mahadev Temple and participated in a public function in Tarabh. During this event,  he unveiled and laid the foundation stone for various development projects worth over Rs 8,350 crore. 


1) Connectivity: Rail line doubling,  gauge conversion,  and new broad-gauge lines in Mahesana and Banaskantha districts.


2) Internet: Bharat Net Phase-II – Gujarat Fibre Grid Network Limited,  aimed at providing high-speed internet to over 8,000 gram panchayats.


3) Road Infrastructure: Projects in Kheda, Gandhinagar,  Ahmedabad,  and Mahesana.


4) Urban Development: Various initiatives to enhance infrastructure and living standards.


5) Water Supply: Projects to improve water availability and irrigation.


6) Tourism: Development initiatives to boost the tourism sector.


7) Petroleum & Natural Gas: Expansion of existing infrastructure and exploration of new resources.


8) Tribal Development: Projects aimed at improving the lives and livelihoods of tribal communities.


The Prime Minister unveiled and laid the foundation stone for,  and kickstart work on numerous developmental projects totaling approximately Rs 17,500 crore in Navsari. Prime Minister Modi unveiled various development projects in Navsari,  including segments of the Vadodara Mumbai Expressway,  road developments in Bharuch, Navsari,  and Valsad,  along with rural drinking water supply endeavors in Tapi. Additionally,  the commencement of construction for the PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park will signify a significant advancement for the area.


PM Modi is set to dedicate two new Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) at Kakrapar Atomic Power Station (KAPS) Unit 3 and Unit 4,  built by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL). These reactors,  boasting a combined capacity of 1400 MW,  mark a substantial advancement in domestic nuclear energy generation,  ensuring clean power supply to various states such as Gujarat,  Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh,  Chhattisgarh,  Goa,  and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.


Uttar Pradesh: Boosting Infrastructure and Healthcare


On the afternoon of February 23,  Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the laying of the foundation stone for developmental projects worth over ₹13,000 crore in Varanasi. Tomorrow PM Modi will:


1) Visit the Kashi Sansad Photography Pratiyogita gallery in Varanasi,  interacting with participants showcasing their work on the theme "Sanwarti Kashi" (Transforming Kashi).


2) Inaugurate the newly installed statue of Sant Ravidas at the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali temple at the Seer Govardhanpur temple near BHU and inaugurate various development works around the temple. Lay the foundation stone for the Sant Ravidas Museum and park beautification project.


3) Inaugurate the Bundelkhand Expressway: This 296 km long expressway is expected to improve connectivity and boost economic activity in the Bundelkhand region.


4) Lay the foundation stone for the Noida International Airport: This greenfield airport project aims to become a major cargo hub and enhance air connectivity in the region.


5) Inaugurate various healthcare facilities: This includes AIIMS Gorakhpur and several medical colleges,  aiming to improve healthcare access in the state.
